In the year 2004 we found an industrial building situated in the old industrial harbour at Island Brygge. The building - at 30.000 square meters - formed an A seen from the air, therefore we named it the A-House (A-Huset). The building was empty at the time and waited for the derelict area to be ready for urban development. In the mean time we made a deal with the developers and owners of the building to temporarily transform the building into an alternative house of culture. The deal was made and after a few months the six storeys building turned into studios and workshops by underground artists, musicians, designers, architects and even well established names such as Tal R, Remember My Name and John Kørner.

AIAIAI facilitated this creative transformation and opened a venue on the rooftop. The creativity flowed and resounded throughout the city. Especially during weekends where the rooftop provided a setting for several different clubbing events. Its neglected and ramshackle interior hosted exhibitions, theatrical performances and concerts in which new ideas and concepts were introduced to the public.
